Most Honda cars come with non-interference engines where one or more valves open to fully accommodate the area in which the pistons enter.
Usually, only those with 3.0L & 3.2 L engines tend to have non-interference engines where pistons do not travel into the open valves.

Final Thoughts
Of course, each type of engine has its benefits. For example, non-interference engines are less prone to significant damage if the timing belt breaks. If the belt fails, the pistons won’t come into contact with the valves, thanks to the engine’s overall design.
As such, there’s a very low chance of significant damage to the engine in this case. Watch out for our next post for more on the benefits of each type of engine.
